What Is IT Support?
The term IT support stands for information technology support. So it could be said that any support another firm provides to help you to use any form of information technology falls into the category of IT support. This means that IT support includes help to use and maintain PCs, networked equipment, servers, networks, digital data, the internet, phones (landline, VoIP and mobile) and any other form of information technology.
Most Firms Need IT Support
Even relatively small companies need some form of IT support. Even a small firm or plumbers will use PCs to hold customer, supplier and employee details. They will also use digital systems to buy supplies, assign jobs, invoice for those jobs and to pay their employees. At the very least they need a data backup service to ensure that should there be an electrical surge, flood, fire or hardware failure they could recover all of their data within hours and continue to do business as normal.
On top of that they will also have phones that need maintaining. They are also likely to have a website that would also need maintaining and updating. Both their phones and website come under the category of IT support.
